League of Legends (LoL) is a widely played game that takes place in a fantasy world and is generally played in teams of 5.It is the most popular online game in the USA and Europe and had 27 million gamers a day at the start of 2014.

It has around 85 million gamers around the world.As any real sport, LoL has a standard season (in many countries), an All-Star Tournaments (this year in Paris) and a World Championship (in Seoul in autumn).

Halfway through 2013, the League of Legends pro-gamers were accepted as élite sportspeople in the USA, a huge step forward for eSports and the gamers were even granted work permits bearing that name.

The League of Legends Season 3 World Championship, held in North America, reached 32 followers via streaming and 8.5 million simultaneously. It is no wonder that the prizes for that tournament exceeded 8 million euros.
